Iran Pistachio | Fandoghi pistachio (Round pistachio) is widely available in different areas in Iran. It is the smallest pistachio in size and round in shape. MGT dried fruit is exporting this type of pistachio to China for 10 years.

Pistachio nuts are mentioned in all Iranian traditions, beliefs and rituals such as Norooz (Iranian New Year).
Now, Iran is exporting around 200,000 Tons of pistachios annually. Iran is a producer of more than 50 percentage of global pistachio demand.
1- Naturally Open In-Shell Pistachios:
Open in-shell pistachios are mostly exported as raw dried, in bulk. Raw dried pistachios have a practically unlimited storage life, if stored in relatively dry conditions (only fumigation is needed). Kernel content is about 54-59%, depending on variety and annual fluctuations.
2- Mechanically Opened (MO):
These are closed shell pistachios that have been mechanically opened along the suture of the nut to look similar to the naturally open pistachios. The difference with naturally open pistachios is a lower kernel weight to in-shell ratio (kernel content). Good quality MOs can have kernel content of 49-50%.
3- Closed Shell:
These are pistachios that have not opened naturally (on average 20% of the crop varying by variety and crop year). Closed shell pistachios go for further processing, i.e. shelling, to produce natural kernels or are mechanically opened.
The regular packing is 50Kg sack. 10 or 12Kg cartons and small packages are available based on your order.
Unshelled nuts may be stored for 3 months in the refrigerator or up to 1 year in the freezer. Shelled pistachios can be stored in the refrigerator up to 3 months, but are not a good candidate for freezing. To restore pistachios that have lost their crispness, toast them in an oven for 5-10 minutes.
